Love takes on many forms in our lives.
I spend so much time discussing the love between a man and a woman, but family love and a love between siblings is worth mentioning-especially since my awesome family is the driving force behind the creation of this site.
Have you met my younger sister, Gina? She’s pretty sweet, and I think you would all get along great! Gina is roughly three years younger than me, but I’ll admit, she’s at least ten years wiser. She’s married to Ken (who I completely approve of), and though they don’t have children yet, they have an adorable dog named Ean. (Side note: Ken does photography in the Pittsburgh area and he’s pretty darn good. You can find him on facebook here.)
My sister and I rarely got along growing up, mainly because she was always the well behaved child, and I was what my parent’s must have considered the spawn of Satan. Though as we matured, we began to find a new respect for each other and now I can honestly say she’s my best friend in the top five.
Not only does Gina have an education from an exceptional school, but she also spent the next three years after college doing service work around the country with Americorps, until she came home and landed a position with a non-profit. I can honestly say she has a heart of gold, puts her entire self in to everything she does, and is completely selfless when it comes to the compassion of others.
So, why would I write about my sister on a love site? Well, because quite frankly, I am super proud of her and all that she’s accomplished in her life. Not only has she supported me one hundred percent in everything I’ve done, but she has always been an integral part of my life, and now this site. To me, she really is amazing.
Cheers, Little Sis- I love you, and wish you and Ken all the best that life has to offer!

It feels good to read about your appreciation for your sister. Thanks.
Am I the stern staring cat or the awkward gray one? Maybe that answer depends on the day…
Thanks for the post! It was really sweet and made me cry…because I’m overly emotional like my mother. (It’s a good thing, mom! It gives me that “heart of gold.”)
I love you and I’m proud of all that you do. You take chances and you’re not afraid to put yourself out there. You taught me that about love too. Right after my first big heart break you said: “Sometimes you dive in the water and you break your neck and it (expletive) hurts. But sometimes you dive in and the water is cool, beautiful, and feels amazing. If you never dive, then you never know how great the water can feel.”
That’s deep bro.
Aw man, I can’t believe you remember that! Glad you liked the post, and thank you for all the kind words. It made my day.
