about sabatino

Thank you for visiting A Hot Cup of Love!

pictureMy name is Sabatino. I’m a sappy romantic, a big teddy bear, I tear up at emotional parts of love stories, and I must be psychotic but I just can’t help myself! Ever want something or some one so badly that it’s all you can think about? Me too. I’m a hopeless romantic Italian in a world that seems to be quickly forgetting the art of romance. I’d die for family. I yern to be a father. I pine for unconditional love. Oh, and I really like bacon.

When I was young I always knew that I would be wealthy some day. It wasn’t until recently that I realized I’ve been wealthy this whole time- not in the monetary sense, but with the people I keep.

I dedicate these writings to my grandparents who refused to leave each other’s side, even when faced with terrible illness. You were, and will always continue to be a reminder of what it truely means to be “in love”.
I love you and miss you both.

Sabatino i Love your blog!!! i really find it great how you dedicate your writings to your grandparents!

    • Thank you so much! They are my inspiration in so many ways.

  8. Aw, my grandparents were my inspiration too. My grandmother died just over a year ago. She had spent another 10 years here without my grandfather. I knew that she missed him so much.

I was holding her hand as she died….. my aunt wanted to hold on and not let her go… I said, its time for her to go …

I said ‘nan, it’s time for you to dance again. I hope you have your dancing shoes, as granddad is waiting, you are going to the biggest ballroom in the sky, it’s time to take your shoes and dance nan’….

And she left…. to dance! :)

  23. Sabatino, I agree wholeheartedly that most of us confuse monetary wealth with the grace of Our Lord as being wealthy. Some live a lifetime, never understanding the difference between the two.

Fortunately, I discovered the difference making my journey home here on earth.

    cc

    • Thanks, CC! I’m hoping to enrich my life together with the right girl and The Lord

  29. Your blog is filled with warm fuzzies. :) I was a hopeless romantic during my school years, but that part of me fizzled away when I started getting more “grown up”. It is enchanting to read your words and glimpse the passion you hold in your heart for romance and love and all things heart shaped. I enjoyed my time here. Keep loving!

    • haha! “Warm fuzzies” explaines it perfectly! Thank you for reading!

  30. Thanks Sabatino for following my Christian blog. I have been married for forty-two years to the same man and we have always thought that we loved one another dearly. But that human kind of love fell short because it was based on performance[Philia and Eros}. Your words remind me that real unconditional love originates with God. I can remember when I first repented of my sins and asked Jesus to come into my life and be my Savior, and not only my Savior, but my Lord also, and at that very moment I felt for the first time in my life, liquid, supernatural, unconditional love(Agape) pour down upon me like something I had never known in my life …and everyday since, it’s been a blissful, moment to moment connection with the Savior, so much so, that I feel “high” most of the time and like I am walking above the problems of this world. Praise God for His unconditional love! That’s as close to explaining it that human words can say. We have to remember that we are loved and cherished by the God of the Universe. His desire is that we will humble ourselves before Him, receive Jesus, the Son, into our hearts and walk with Him and in tune with His great Spirit. And it’s not that we loved Him first either, but that He loved us, even while we were yet sinners. For God loved the world so much that He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. This is the unconditional love that we all crave.

Thank you for following my blog; I too am quite technologically impaired and cannot figure out how to “like” your posts. Can one do that?

    • Unfortunately since I’m self-hosted, I don’t get the luxury of a “like” button anymore, but I certainly appreciate you stopping by to read and leaving a comment. Thank you!

  32. Aww, you’re a pretty special guy. Hang in there and keep your eyes open. She might just appear when you least expect it. Don’t give up your ideals; your grandparents are rooting for you.

    • Thanks, Sidney! The thought of my grandparents looking down on this is quite real to me. I hope to make them proud!

  34. Sabatino,

Hi! Recently I got a message that you have started following my poetry blog, the Book of Pain. Unfortunately I have been very busy and I apologize that it has taken me so long to visit your site. I wanted to drop by and take a look, and honestly, I am blown away! What a lovely site you have created…it seems simple but it is not. It seems obvious, but it is anything but. Keep up the good work, please! I plan on dropping by as often as I can. Thank you!

Thanks for following my blog. I love your posts too. I’m the sort of person who cries at soppy films, loves to receive flowers from my wonderful husband, walks down the street holding his hand after 28 years of marriage. Do I qualify for a soppy romantic?
    I hope so.
    Kate

    • haha yes, Kate! I believe you qualify without a doubt.

    Big kiss.

    • If this blog has taught me anything, it’s that I’m certainly not alone in this love thing. Share everything you know, you’ll be surprised how many others think just like you. Thank you for reading!

  44. Thanks for following my blog. It’s so touching that you dedicated this to your grandparents.

  45. Hi Sabatino,
Thanks for following my blog! I’ve just perused yours and I’m really liking what I see, it’s like a lovely cuddle after the more sombre nature of my blog (although I try not to be too gloomy wherever possible! I may be grieving but I’m still positive gal). I will endeavour to use your blog as a little antidote after each new post I write.

On another note my husband is a huge soppy romantic too – love rocks and if you put it out there it will come.
    Best of luck :)

    • I love that you just referred to my blog as “a lovely cuddle”! haha. It’s perfect. Sounds like your husband is a keeper. Maybe I’ll have to learn his secrets. Cheers!

  46. Beautiful bio. May your quest lead you to greater love than your mind can even conceive of :-) .

    • Thank you! I hope your 2013 is filled with passion and love.

  47. I too am a hopeless romantic, I believe it’s what gets me through the roughest of days post JR’s affair. I think it’s one of the reasons I stayed…he is my everything.

    • As hopeless romantics, we tend to put it all on the line with every important person in our lives. Sometimes it works out for us, and most of the time it doesn’t- but that doesn’t stop us from diving in head first all over again. In my opinion, there’s no other way to do it. :)

  48. Beautiful! Being a hopeless romantic has guided me to my true love of my life! It will be an endless adventure in this life now, with a person to share it with! Thanks for visiting my blog!

    • Thanks for reading! I can’t wait to have someone to share all this with.

But I write mostly about overcoming stuff. Inspired to shed some of my romance side though :)
